Committee Elects New Members of the Board of Directors

Miami Lakes, FL (www.orangebowl.org) – The Orange Bowl Committee (OBC) held elections for 10 Board of Directors positions at its annual elections held February 8th, it was announced by president and chairman Antonio L. Argiz.
 
Andrew P. Hertz was elected by the membership as second vice chairman and joins chairman-elect Jeffrey T. Roberts, first vice chair O. Ford Gibson, treasurer Luis E. Boué, immediate past president Phillis Oeters, chief executive officer Eric L. Poms and Argiz as members of the executive committee, along with Lee E. Stapleton, who was elected by the board as secretary.
 
Newly elected board members include at-large members Timothy A. Battle, Larry Gautier, Sara B. Herald, Matthew E. Morrall and Jeff E. Rubin. Hertz, OBC past presidents Alfonso A. Cueto and Christopher E. Knight along with members at-large Shawn D. Crews and Laura Morgan Horton were re-elected to the Board of Directors.
 
The Board of Directors, led by Mr. Argiz, will preside over the Orange Bowl Committee for the 2010-11 Festival, which includes the 77th FedEx Orange Bowl, the 17th Annual MetroPCS Orange Bowl Basketball Classic and the 12th season of the Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance. The 77th FedEx Orange Bowl Game will be played on January 3, 2011 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens.

The Orange Bowl Committee is a not-for-profit, 333-member, primarily-volunteer organization.  It is a self-sustaining, independent organization that supports and produces activities and events that enhance the image, economy and culture of South Florida.  The Orange Bowl Festival features a year-round schedule of events culminating with the FedEx Orange Bowl on January 3, 2011.
