Orange Bowl Committee Honors Parks in Palm Beach and St. Lucie

Miami Lakes, FL (www.orangebowl.org) – The Orange Bowl Committee’s "Park of the Week" patrol was in full force over the weekend as the festive caravan headed to Palm Beach and St. Lucie Counties. The Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance (OBYFA) staff will was on site to be apart of all the action at Glades Tri-City YFL.
 
Currently in its 11th year, the Glades Tri-City Youth Football League (YFL), provides the communities of Pahokee, Glades and Okeechobee a venue for young football players to experience football glory between their sugarcane laden fields.
 
The staff was on hand for the festivities, which included giveaways, promotions, contests and an appearance by Obie, the official mascot of the Orange Bowl Committee. Pre-game activities kicked-off the program and park leaders, volunteers, parents and coaches were recognized for their contributions. 
 
The parks visited over the weekend included:
-           Lawnwood Stadium, home of the Ft. Pierce Buccaneers
-           Pahokee High School, home of the Pahokee Baby Blue Dvils
-           Glades Pioneer Park, home of the Glades Glen Browns
