The Orange Bowl hosted a series of Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance (OBYFA) Football Clinics presented by Metro by T-Mobile in partnership with Florida International University and Florida Atlantic University in 2019. In addition, the Orange Bowl assisted the University of Miami coaches with two of their football camps.
The two OBYFA Clinics presented by Metro by T-Mobile were free for boys and girls ages 5-14 and focused on proper safety, development, good sportsmanship and education. Football coaches from FIU and FAU ran participants through offensive, defensive and agility drills, including proper techniques to promote on-field football safety. Florida Atlantic University coaches joined on Friday, June 14, while Butch Davis and his staff from Florida International University attended on Sunday, July 21.
The University of Miami’s Manny Diaz Football Camps were hosted at two of Orange Bowl Committee’s Legacy Gift Parks; Orange Bowl Field at Ives Estates Park and Orange Bowl Field at Harris Field Park. UM student-athletes assisted the Miami coaching staff to teach kids the basic fundamentals of football.
