The Orange Bowl Florida Fastpitch invitational is designed to give high school softball teams a positive experience no matter what their level. The event brings in teams who participated in the state final four, such as Doral Academy and Ft. Myers High School, as well as schools who are working hard to build their programs.
This year, 45 schools will attend the three day event held at Palmetto Bay Park. Instead of brackets, each team will receive a schedule geared to their specific needs. The FHSAA now uses a ranking system to set up the championship playoffs. District tournaments are now based on your rankings within the district. The rankings come into play again as they seed for the regionals. The event is designed to help attending schools enhance their ranking as they prepare for the playoffs. Other schools play against teams of similar levels and have their athletes compete in every game. Most importantly, the event strives to give these softball student athletes a great experience that helps them grow through positive competition.
This is the 27th year of the tournament and it is under the direction of Mark Schusterman. Please contact coach Schusterman with any questions you might have via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
