Platinum Hip Hop Artist & South Florida Native Flo Rida to Headline Capital One Halftime Show During 2018 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl
Maintaining the tradition of college football’s most iconic halftime show, platinum hip hop artist Flo Rida will headline the Capital One Halftime Show during the 2018 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl on December 29th at Hard Rock Stadium. The South Florida native joins an iconic group of Orange Bowl halftime acts that includes the likes of DNCE, John Fogerty, Dierks Bentley, Jake Owen and Andy Grammer.
Flo Rida is perhaps best known for his smash hit “Low” featuring T-Pain, off his debut album Mail On Sunday. The track reached the Billboard Hot 100 just two months after being released and topped the Billboard Hot 100 list for 10 weeks straight. The platinum recording artist has collaborated with notable artists such as Ke$ha, David Guetta, Will.I.am, Sia, Sage the Gemini, Timbaland, Ne Yo and many more.
“My House” is the latest EP from Flo Rida, which features the lead track “GDFR” (Going Down For Real) featuring Sage the Gemini and Lookas. “GDFR” was the lead song for the 2015 NBA season and was featured in the movie “Furious 7.”

Flo Rida was raised in Miami’s neighborhood of Carol City. Growing up, Flo Rida was exposed to all kinds of music by his sisters and father, both having musical backgrounds. Flo Rida’s musical success has allowed him to get back to his roots of giving back having started “Big Dreams for Kids” a nonprofit foundation that is committed to inspiring future leaders.
Joining Flo Rida as part of the game day entertainment is three-time Grammy Award nominated singer and songwriter, Elle King, who will headline the Capital One Orange Bowl Fan Fest. Admission to the event is free for all fans with a ticket to the 2018 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl.
King released her debut Album Love Stuff featuring the hit single “Ex’s & Oh’s” which reached the top of Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart. King made chart history becoming the second female artist in 18 years to reach No. 1 at Alternative Radio. Performing the National Anthem this year is Soul Train Award winner and University of Miami Alumnus Nicole Henry. Since her debut, Henry has earned three Top-10 jazz albums in the U.S. and Japan and established herself as one of the jazz world’s most acclaimed vocalists possessing a potent combination of dynamic vocal abilities, impeccable phrasing, and powerful emotional resonance. Joining Henry in singing the National Anthem will be Unity on the Bay Choir from Miami. With a powerful and diverse group of singers who come together to praise and celebrate music which inspires, rocks the soul and touches the heart, Unity on the Bay is known for their classic gospel sound with contemporary influences.
