The Orange Bowl Youth Football Alliance (Orange Bowl YFA) presented by Metro by T-Mobile, which has produced such talents as Geno Smith, MVP of the 2012 Orange Bowl and second round draft choice of the New York Jets, is home to more than 16,000 football players and cheerleaders. Consisting of eight member leagues, the Orange Bowl YFA ranges across South Florida, from north of Lake Okeechobee all the way down to Key West.
Celebrating its 19th anniversary in 2018, the Orange Bowl YFA presented by Metro by T-Mobile supports four recreational leagues and four competitive leagues under its umbrella. The recreational league rules stipulate that all kids have an opportunity to play and that they all live in the same geographic area, while the competitive leagues hold tryouts for their roster spots.
Throughout the 2018 season, the Orange Bowl YFA's Park of the Week program presented by Metro by T-Mobile will bring a festive caravan to numerous park locations each Saturday and entertain players and their families with in-game contests, promotions and giveaways while recognizing the efforts of park leaders, volunteers and parents.
Cheerleaders also will get their chance to shine as squads from throughout the Orange Bowl YFA perform routines at the Orange Bowl Cheer Championships presented by Metro by T-Mobile, with the winning squads earning a trophy of their own. The all-day extravaganza is held at Nova Southeastern University's Don Taft Center.
