Orange Bowl Breaks Ground on New Field in Kendall
Orange Bowl’s eighth Legacy Park project in South Florida
Miami, Fla. (December 18, 2025) – The Orange Bowl Committee, alongside the 2026 Miami Host Committee, Miami-Dade County and Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade, officially broke ground today on a $2.3 million renovation at the Kendall Club, marking the start of the new Orange Bowl Field at Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade, Kendall Club.
The project will bring a new synthetic football field, an electronic scoreboard and other improvements to the Kendall Club, creating an updated space for young athletes to train and compete. The renovation continues the Orange Bowl’s long-standing focus on expanding access to quality youth sports facilities across South Florida.
This marks the Orange Bowl’s eighth Legacy Gift to the South Florida community and the fifth in Miami-Dade County. Previous Miami-Dade Legacy projects include Walt Frazier Park in Miami Gardens, Miami’s Moore Park, Miami’s Ives Estates Park and Homestead’s Harris Field Park. Together, and with the support of generous partners, Orange Bowl Legacy Gift projects have delivered more than $27 million in community improvements, helping enhance neighborhood parks and recreational opportunities for families throughout the South Florida community.
Legacy Programs are one of the four pillars of Orange Bowl Cares, the organization’s community outreach platform, which also includes Community Engagement, Education and Youth Sports. For 90 years, the Orange Bowl has played a central role in South Florida, hosting championship events and supporting initiatives that inspire youth, strengthen our communities and contribute to the local economy year-round.
These Legacy Gifts are made possible through the Orange Bowl Committee and its leadership of the 2026 Miami Host Committee, which will host the 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship on January 19, 2026, at Hard Rock Stadium.
